NEUROSURGERY-Dr Neil Cochrane, NEUROSURGEON
Dr Neil J Cochrane is a Consultant Neurosurgeon and Spinal Surgeon based on the Gold Coast in Queensland. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS).
A neurosurgeon is a surgically trained doctor of the brain, spine and peripheral nervous system. This is different from a Neurologist, who is someone who treats non-surgical conditions of the nervous system, such as migraine, epilepsy and multiple sclerosis.
As a Neurosurgeon Dr Cochrane manages surgical and some medical disorders of the brain, spine and nervous system.
Dr Cochrane specialises in treating the following conditions:
- Brain tumours
- Brain haemorrhages
- Hydrocephalus
- Trauma to the brain, skull or spine
- Degenerative disorders of the spine
- Spinal cord or nerve compression problems
- Peripheral nerve compression
There are many other problems and conditions that Dr Cochrane can and will attend to, and often the cause of your problem may not be known until Dr Cochrane has completed a full investigation. Talk to your doctor about sending a referral to us and an appointment will be arranged.
Dr Cochrane is able to attend to patients in his rooms in Southport, and operates at Allamanda Private Hospital and Gold Coast Hospital. You can learn more about him by clicking here.
You will need a current referral to see Dr Cochrane, and your own doctor can arrange this for you.
